Continuing on from my Arts Council funded project ‘A Gardener’s Daughter’ I am undertaking a practice-based PhD at Newcastle University based across Fine Art & Architecture, Planning and Landscape. My research will look at North East Gardening Communities revealing and exploring their plants, people and politics through photography, creative writing and the archive. I will be Working with Wallington Hall, Dilston Physic Garden, The Station Masters Community Wildlife Garden, Vertical Veg. and Moorside Allotments. My publication is also underway and will form part of my first year research where photographs, creative writing and archival imagery will interweave to create a garden guide with a difference!
